The latest design for mobile aircrew members, replacing the Gunner’s Belt, the HBU-27/P Restraint Assembly is sewn into the Navy’s new Aircrew Endurance vest. The HBU-27/P is a Critical Safety Item with 113 Critical and Major characteristics and 13 Severity Category 1 components. Survival Innovations designers received the NAWC Patent of the Year Award for the Quick Release used on the HBU-27/P.
Survival Innovations manufactures the Adjustable Snap Hook Strap Assembly (3561AS651-1) for use by mobile aircrew members. The strap is adjustable from 24 inches to 56 inches, with a D-Ring on one end, a forged Safety Hook on the other, and a standard MS22007 Adjuster Assembly in the middle. A serialized Critical Safety Item, the Adjustable Snap Hook is currently being used with the Aircrew Endurance Vest. It has many other airborne applications.
The OH-58D Kiowa Helicopter has been retrofitted with the latest in seat cushions, allowing multiple configurations and inflatable bladders for lumbar and thigh support. A team effort by LME, Survival Innovations, and Dynamic Systems. Survival Innovations has produced more than fifteen hundred seat cushion sets, in addition to spares. Survival Innovations is currently producing the patented Emergency Release Assembly (ERA) as part of the Aircrew Safety Shoulder Harness (ASSH) HBU-27/P used in the new Aircrew Endurance Vest. A previous version, the HBU-26/P integrates with the AIRSAVE Vest and Hoisting Harness. The sole source ERA and ASSH contain a large number of Critical and Major Characteristics, which ensure that America’s warfighters have another reliable and quality safety device from Survival Innovations.
